Don't Celebrate Too Soon; Instead, Concentrate On The NDC's Collation Process

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has advised its followers to wait for the official results of the general elections in 2024 before celebrating too soon.

As the results are being compiled nationwide, NDC Communications Director Sammy Gyamfi stressed to reporters during a press briefing the value of staying calm and alert.

On behalf of our father and leader, John Dramani Mahama, as well as the incoming president of Ghana, if you are listening to this speech, please head to the collation center in your constituency. I'm sure you're already following the vote boxes and other election supplies to the EC collation center if you were at the polling place when the announcement was made.

"Now is the time to fulfill your responsibility if you weren't in the polling place, wherever you are in your constituency. After casting your ballot and having it counted and announced at the polling place, it is now your duty to safeguard those votes.

Thus, this new phase of constituency collation is crucial for all of us, and our leader would like us to hold off on celebrating until the results are properly compiled and announced at the constituency centers.

"Our agent receives a copy of the results form at the collation centers that has been properly completed and signed by the various party collation agents. "You don't celebrate," he said.

In order to guarantee election openness, he also urged party agents and representatives at the various collation centers to maintain focus, keep an eye on events, and report any irregularities as soon as they arise.

As preliminary results from polling places across the country begin to roll in, the NDC's announcement comes amid increased anticipation.

"You only celebrate when the EC at the collation center announces the results."
