A prominent basic educational institution in Mankessim, in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region, Calvary Praise Preparatory and Junior High School (JHS), has marked its 20th anniversary with a Speech and Prize-Giving Day ceremony in a gland style.
The event, which brought together students, staff, parents, and key stakeholders in the education sector, highlighted the school’s journey from humble beginnings to a thriving institution that is committed to shaping tomorrow’s leaders.
The event was climaxed on the theme, “Celebrating Our Past, Inspiring The Future” reflects the school’s mission to provide holistic education that prepares students not only for academic success but also for the challenges of an ever-changing world.
Speaking at the event, the Proprietress of Calvary Praise Preparatory and JHS, Madam Jane Ekua Gyanwaa Hammond, expressed pride in the school’s growth over the past years.
"As I reflect on the last two decades, I am filled with fond memories. The journey has been challenging at times, but it has always been rewarding. Okoamankra Kwame Akwonu X, the Paramount Chief of Enyan Abassa who doubles as the Vice President for the Central Regional House of Chiefs and the Chairman for the occasion, emphasized the importance of education in shaping the future of the nation. He encouraged parents to invest in their children’s education and praised the school for its efforts in providing quality education.

Member of Parliament for Mfantseman Constituency and the Minister for Environment Science Technology and Innovation, Hon. Ophelia Mensah Hayford, on her part highlighted the importance of leadership, adding that it is about having the vision to effect positive change in society.
She emphasized to looks to the future and remains committed to the school's vision of nurturing tomorrow’s leaders, ensuring that every student is equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to thrive in an evolving world.
Hon. Ophelia Mensah commended the efforts and commitment of the students, staff, parents and stakeholders to effective supervision and monitoring to ensure that school continue to thrive.
The 20th anniversary was an opportunity to reflect on the school's history, honour its past and generate pride in the current future community.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of awards to outstanding students across all levels, from lower to upper primary, JHS and staff, celebrating their academic achievements. A choreography performance by the students added a cultural flair and cadet display to the event making it in a scope.
The anniversary was also a testament to the belief that education truly shapes the future, and it fills with immense pride to celebrate the milestones Calvary Praise Preparatory and Junior High School has reached together.
