Ekumfi MP, PC Supports SHS Entrants With Mattresses and Chop Boxes, Offers Scholarship For 20 Tertiary Students



The Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Abeiku Crentsil and NDC Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for Ekumfi Costituency, Hon. Dr. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe in collaboration in their commitment to the education sector, have presented educational materials to the best 250 Senior High School (SHS) entrants.

The items which include 250 mattresses, 250 wooden chop boxes filled with provisions and exercise books were provided to the students. 


The MP and PC also supported 20 brilliant but needy students with scholarship into the tertiary institutions and 15 Senior High School (SHS) teachers were also awarded with an amount of GH¢1,500 each serving as a source of motivation for their unrivalled support over the years.


In an interview Hon. Abeiku Crentsil revealed his commitment to the education sector and future leaders as the donation shall serve as motivation and encouragement for the beneficiaries and other students.

He further noted that, the initiative is a precedent and a challenge to his successors. He further called on the electorates to massively vote for Hon. Dr. Othaniel Ekow Kwainoe, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate in the upcoming general election to push the initiative at a greater height.

Dr. Ekow Kwainoe on his part congratulated Hon. Crentsil for initiating the good politics and development to the area despite NPP government negligence.

He added that, NDC is focused on driving corporate social responsibility activities and, in this way, looks forward to actively contributing to the social-economic development of communities within the catchment area when elected as MP.

He called on the constituents to remember him and vote for the great Umbrella party (NDC) in the upcoming general election to continue the good works of his predecessor.


The list of the best students across the district upon which the initiative hinged was generated by the Ekumfi Education Directorate through the various Headteachers who presented their best students. Every community within the district was captured making the initiative a success and a welcoming one in scope.

The Ekumfi District Education Director, Mr. Isaac Oscar Odoom, applauded Mr. Crentsil for his commitment to the education sector during his tenure of office.
He reminded the students that, "you have a task to perform as the items received serves as motivation and encouragement."

He also reiterated that, the MP has set a precedent as he urged his successors not to let down the initiative.


Some of the parents and beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Member of Hon. Abeiku Crentsil for such a kind gesture and assured to deliver to expectations.
