As the world marked the 2024 International Day of the Girl Child themed “Girls’ Vision for the Future,” the celebration highlighted the dreams and aspirations of girls across the world, emphasizing the importance of empowering them to shape a brighter future.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ena Kare Foundation who doubles as the Queen Mother of Ekumfi Swedru, Nana Adwoa Enyinfuaa III, in collaboration with Leeco Educational Complex has commemorated the event in a grand style.
The event brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from agencies, partners, civil society organizations, and the media held at Leeco Educational Complex premises - Kosoa was themed: "Empowering Young Girls Because A Girl With A Dream Can Change The World".
The celebration which featured the participation of girls shared their visions and aspirations and a range of activities, such as school engagements, intergenerational dialogues, and a girls’ media takeover. These activities provided platforms for girls to discuss critical issues like gender equality, climate justice, and the role of girls in sustainable development.
The 2024 celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child in Ghana aims to amplify the voices of girls, increase awareness of the challenges they face, and inspire action to support their empowerment and leadership.

A blessed morning to all.
It is with great joy and pride that I stand before you today, to celebrate the achievements and potential of our young women. As the Queen Mother of Ekumfi Swedru and the founder of the Ena Kare Foundation, I believe in the power of education and empowerment to transform lives.
The collaboration between our foundation and Leeco Educational Complex is a testament to our shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of strong, intelligent, and compassionate women. We are honored to have the opportunity to celebrate Girl Child Day together.
Let us remember that every girl deserves the chance to reach her full potential. Let us break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create a world where girls are valued, respected, and supported.
May this day inspire us all to continue our efforts to empower our young women and build a brighter future for generations to come.
