DEMOCRACY HUB DEMO: Police Slam ‘UnGhanaian’ Behaviour Of The Protestors

The Ghana Police Service has issued a warning to the Democracy Hub protesters following reports of disruptions affecting commuters and road users in parts of Accra.

According to the police, the actions of the demonstrators are causing unnecessary frustration and inconvenience to the general public.

Describing the conduct as "uncivil, unpatriotic, and un-Ghanaian," the police expressed concern over what the Service said was the negative impact on daily activities, urging protesters to respect the rights of others while exercising their own.

The authorities called on the demonstrators to maintain a peaceful atmosphere and ensure that their protests do not hinder the movement of the public or disrupt essential services.

“We are urging the demonstrators to desist from such uncivil, unpatriotic and un-Ghanaian acts depicted in the images and videos and allow the general public to go about their businesses without any hindrance."

“We would like to assure the public that more Police officers have been deployed across the city to manage the traffic and ensure security, law and order, “the police in a press statement.
