Deputy Minister For Local Government Inaugurates Inter-Jurisdiction Coordination Management Committee

The Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development (MLGDRD) Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has inaugurated the elected officers of the Inter-Jurisdiction Coordination Management Committee (ICMC).

This landmark event signals the commencement of a new chapter for the seventeen GARID beneficiary Metropolitan and Municipal Assemblies (MMAs), as they come together under the ICMC's umbrella to drive improved service delivery and sustainable development across their regions.

In his address, Mr Assafuah emphasised the significance of the ICMC's role in fostering a collaborative approach to governance.

“Together, we embark on this journey with a shared vision of improved service delivery and sustainable development for all our communities,” he stated.

He expressed confidence that the combined efforts of the MMAs would realise the committee's objectives, paving the way for a brighter future.

The establishment of the ICMC is seen as a critical step in addressing the challenges of cross-jurisdictional planning, ensuring that resources are utilised efficiently and that development initiatives are coordinated effectively across the various assemblies.

The committee's work is expected to streamline processes, reduce redundancies, and foster a more integrated approach to local governance.

As the new officers assume their roles, the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development reaffirms its commitment to supporting the ICMC and its mission.

The collaborative efforts of the MMAs are anticipated to yield significant benefits, enhancing the quality of life for residents and promoting sustainable growth throughout the regions involved.
