Mankessim Ebenezer Community Co-operative Credit Union Holds Its 7th AGM In Grand Style



Mankessim Ebenezer Community Co-operative Credit Union (MECCCU) has held this year's AGM in grand style with massive attendance.

MECCCU organizes an annual general meeting to render an account to its shareholders.

The theme for the 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) is: "Enhancing Business Growth through Technology and Quality Service".

The Board of Directors and the various committees rendered their account to the union's shareholders.

The Board Chairman, Mr. Ebenezer Ampong Baidoo told the members that, the union's performance under the year of review has tremendously increased.

He stated that the union's asset has grown by 257.91% and revenue increase by 457.46%.

The Credit Union is working harder towards making the union a dividend-paying enterprise following this year's AGM.

Mr. Patrick Eshun, the General Manager of Mankessim Ebenezer Community Co-operative Credit Union Limited, made a passionate appeal to the general public following the Union's 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) to cultivate the habit of saving to enable one to have access to capital to invest in the future.

Mr Patrick Eshun assured MECCCU shareholders that, they have deployed a comprehensive enterprise risk management system and continue to use world class consultants and internal experts to stay ahead of the threats posed by cyber security. He also called on members to subscribe to the mobile banking to curb inconveniences that may occur in case of fraud.

Speaking to NewsAfricaGh.com News, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Adepa Teachers' Co-operative Credit Union, Mr Joseph Acquaye, the Guest Speaker at the AGM also reiterated the call on Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of savings to reduce poverty in the communities. He advised that "investing in betting and alcoholism among others is worrisome and it would be best to start saving from the little you earn to have a better life than investing in betting."

Mr Acquaye emphasized that, one does not need to have huge amounts of capital to invest in savings, but a clear plan, adding that 'little is much'.

The event, which took place at the Ebenezer Methodist Church in Mankessim on Thursday, June 20, 2024, had many dignitaries gracing the occasion with their presence.

The AGM also comes as a great achievement for the union, as it signifies a financial breakthrough.

Some of the dignitaries advised the members on the importance of savings, shares, load repayment, loan insurance and the introduction of new members into the union.

Factors including strong cost control measures leading to an improvement in the Credit Union's staff performance, management system and the augmentation of the Union’s leadership in key areas to implement key elements of the Union’s strategy contributed to the sterling performance.

Following the calls of the members, the management of Mankessim Ebenezer Community Co-operative Credit Union Ltd has inaugurated its new Mankessim Market Branch within the Mankessim main market.
