The National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, has been appointed as the new Board Chairman of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).

This appointment comes after the tenure of Joe Addo-Yobo, who has served in this capacity since 2017.

The formalisation of Mr. Ntim's appointment took place on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Energy.

The swearing-in ceremony was officiated by the Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.

Expressing his confidence in Mr. Ntim's leadership prowess, Dr. Prempeh took to Facebook to commend the appointment stating, "National Chairman of my beloved New Patriotic Party, Mr. Ntim is not new to leadership and therefore, I have no doubt that he has what it takes to steer the NPA to achieve its objectives for the benefit of all Ghanaians."

Dr. Prempeh further emphasised the importance of prioritising key areas such as strengthening regulatory frameworks, enhancing operational efficiencies, and upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability within the NPA.
