The Paramount Chief (Omanhen) of the Mankessim Traditional Council, His Royal Eminence Osagyefo Amanfo Edu VI, has expressed joy following stakeholders' engagement with the Ghana State Book Project team.
Osagyefo commended the Ghana State Book Project and has declared support in ensuring that the Mankessim State Book Project achieves its success.
In attendance at the event held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Mankessim Ebenezer Methodist Church were many dignitaries gracing the short ceremony with their presence and support making it a remarkable one.
Omanhen in his remarks showed gratitude, adding that; peace and security a hallmarks of every community and country. He's very enthusiastic about the initiative of the Ghana State Book Project and encouraged them to do all that they can towards the Mankessim State Book making it a reality.
Osagyefo Amanfo Edu VI was very happy that, the Mankessim State Book is going to put an end to all chieftaincy disputes in Mankessim for peace and development to reign.
Speaking to NewsAfricaGh's Adom Nanaa Odiasempa Paa Solo Savvy; Mr Isaac Bright Botchway, the National State Book Project's Coordinator on his part indicated that the Book is a nationwide research project designed to document and authenticate all traditional histories in Ghana.
National Coordinator for the National State Book Project, Mr Bright Botchway added, "the aim of the project is to create an authentic State History Book for each traditional state in Ghana."
Mr Botchway expressed that, the project is undertaken by Sates-Book Ghana and ROOTLINK Research Consortium in collaboration with the Ghana Tourism Authority, National Commission on Culture, Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Ministry of Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs, and other institutions supporting the initiative.
He emphasized that, the project is not funded by Ghana Government and it's free from political affiliations.
