Voter Transfer Exercise: Ekumfi NDC Wages War Against 'Alien'

The Ekumfi National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a strong warning to illegal vote transfers to the constituency.

In a statement signed by the Constituency's Secretary, Mr Edward Acquah Fayah and Mr Kow Kakra Nketsia-Richardson, the Communication Officer indicated that, they are ever ready to resist any attempt by foreigners who have been politically induced or moltivated to transfer their votes.

"We ask that people who are not from Ekumfi avoid being lured with material or monetary gains to transfer their votes to Ekumfi. Such individuals, if caught, will be dealt with according to the laws governing such illegalities."

NDC EKUMFI CONSTITUENCY

RELEASE ISSUED ON 30TH MAY, 2024

EKUMFI NDC ISSUES RED FLAG (CAUTION) AGAINST ILLEGAL VOTE TRANSFERS TO THE CONSTITUENCY

The Ekumfi NDC party wishes to issue a stern warning to individuals or groups who are not indigenous to or have no legal binding affiliation with the constituency: do not attempt to transfer your vote to this constituency.

This warning comes in response to observations made by the party during the recently concluded limited registration exercise. We remind everyone of the legal provisions and guidelines that require every Ghanaian to vote in the constituency where they reside. Any attempts by individuals, parties, or groups to bypass these regulations will be met with all necessary resistance. We have observed that our opponents and their associates have bused underage and non-residential prospective voters to the registration center, disrupting the previously serene atmosphere of this exercise.

We welcome all indigenes who wish to transfer their votes and assure them of our maximum cooperation and assistance. However, 'foreigners' with no legal affiliation and those in contravention of the provisions in *CI127* and the guidelines (https://eu.docworkspace.com/d/sII_A0e6CAsTc4LIG) for this exercise will be dealt with accordingly.

Every transfer will be scrutinized with a fine-tooth comb to ensure that only those who reside in or have a legal affiliation with the constituency are involved in electing political leaders in Ekumfi. We hereby warn individuals or groups who have turned themselves into contractors, recruiting people to Ekumfi for registration.

Through this statement, we ask that people who are not from Ekumfi avoid being lured with material or monetary gains to transfer their votes to Ekumfi. Such individuals, if caught, will be dealt with according to the laws governing such illegalities.

Thank you.
