Residents Of Anomabo Mpredwo Appeal To Government, Others To Support Their Stalled School Project


Enhancing education across Ghana, the Chiefs and residents of Anomabo Mpredwo, a farming community in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese (AAK) District in the Central Region have made a passionate appeal to the government, philanthropists and other benevolent bodies over a situation they describe as highly punitive.

The Chief (Odzikro) of the Mpredwo community, Nana Ansah Sresreku Ababio (V) bemoaned that, the current state of their community-built school facility is worrisome, hence children of school going age walk miles before accessing education in the nearby communities in this modern era.

"The government through the leadership of the Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency, Hon. Elvis Morris Donkoh came to their aid in constructing a new classroom block but it has been left out. I am appealing to the government, philanthropists and other benevolent bodies to come to our aid for the good people of Mpredwo to have a quality education."



Speaking to NewsAfricaGh, the Obaahemaa of Anomabo Mpredwo, Nana Ekua Broba (I) mentioned that, the community needs massive projects to cushion the citizenry. She expressed that, the community lacks a CHPS compound which will enhance effective healthcare delivery as well as the needed teaching and learning materials for basic school, called on the government to allocate additional teaching staff to the town including teachers' bungalow, portal drinking water among others poses a significant challenge to the effective operation of the school and other activities in the community.

Nana Efua Guraba (I), the Nketesiahemaa of Mpredwo on her part also reiterated same challenges. She advised the youth to take their education seriously to become good future leaders despite challenges.

She called on the residents to be united and supportive to develop the community they want.

Nananom noted that, their doors are open for anyone to seek any advice and support.

They made these passionate appeals as the good people of Anomabo Mpredwo celebrate this year's Easter Festival in a grand style in collaboration with Obrumankoma FM, a Mankessim-based radio station on the theme; 'Building a Community and Information Centres'.

The Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the AAK constituency, Mr Eric Kobina Nyanteh popularly known as 'Etudur' promised the chiefs and citizenry of Mpredwo his support in terms of development. He urged to work hand in hand with them for their dreams to become a reality, being an agent of development of the area.

Etudur donated streetlights and an amount of money to support this year's Easter Festival.


Anomabo Mpredwo community eagerly awaits a positive response from the government and other benevolent bodies, hoping that their plea for support will be met.
