The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meeting, seeking to scrutinize cocoa road contracts, ended abruptly due to the absence of the sector minister.
This was after members of the committee convened today to examine some contracts and conduct a performance audit of the Ministry for Roads and Highways.
However, the meeting concluded with the chairman expressing misgivings over the absence of Road Minister, Francis Asenso Boakye since he was expected to answer questions related to his sector.
This comes on the heels of the Minority in Parliament alleging corruption in the awarding of cocoa road contracts.
The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee and MP for Ketu North, Dr. James Klutse Avedzi, explained that the Ministry also failed to submit documents needed for the exercise.
He stressed on the committee's unwillingness to entertain the Deputy Road Minister, Stephen Jalula.
