The Constituency Chairman for Mfantseman, Chairman Fred Budu-Hagan has called on the National Investigation Bureau (NIB) to provide the CCTV camera footage of a billboard hosting the photographs of the Presidential and Parliamentary candidates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), formal President John Dramani Mahama and Dr Ebenezer Prince Arhin that has been pulled down by unknown assailants.
Residents woke up on Thursday, November 23, 2023, to see the huge billboard mounted at Mankessim Roundabout dismantled without reason.
According to the Constituency Chairman, the video footage of the area would capture the perpetrators for breaking down the huge billboard amidst a cacophony of voices from civilians.
The billboard was purported to have been promoting tolerance, love and acceptance of NDC's Presidential and Parliamentary candidates for the good people of the area.
“We want them to know that we will not entertain this nonsense, they are even lucky that we didn’t see the people who pulled down the billboard”, he threatened.
“We’ll get them. The billboard was mounted few days ago and it was demolished this morning. We are demanding the video footage of the area else, no billboard will be seen before and after the 2024 general elections.
Chairman Fred Budu-Hagan further called on all the faithful and 'Akatamansonians' nationalists in Mfantseman and Central Region; "your Nation demands your devotion. Be watchdogs; it's your civic duty to protect the Constitution".
Others questioned who gave the promoters the permit to mount the billboard in Mankessim roundabout, whilst calling for the arrest of such persons.
